A Cop D’Ull

The photographs of Jordi Bernadó don’t answer to a decisive moment but to a decisive location. His images, landscapes of different environments that decontextualize cultural points of reference, are tricks of representation. The realism of his scenarios generates the appearance of a fictional construction, but his photographs are strictly plausible: in them it is reality that finally reveals itself to be a concocted fake decor, an exaggerated stage set in which everyday existence unfolds in the global world. The centre of his work is the responsibility of the spectator concerning the perception of what is real: like landscape, which is in itself, as a way of looking at the world, fundamentally representational.
