Uno de los últimos trabajos de Jordi Bernadó, ID Project, expuesto en el MNAC en el verano de 2022, es el eje central de esta publicación, que, sin embargo, no deja de ser un libro que recorre y explica la obra completa de esta fotógrafo cosmopolita y curioso al tiempo, viajero y escrutador, con una fuerte voluntad de compartir y experimentar. Sus trabajos “relacionales” proponen un territorio de experimentación social, una alternativa a la uniformidad del comportamiento humano.
En ID Project el fotógrafo actúa como intermediario entre el sujeto y el público, haciendo partícipe pleno en el resultado al fotografiado al pedirle que sea él mismo quien elija el lugar donde quieren ser fotografiado. El resultado: un escenario habitado por una sola persona no identificable salvo por el texto que acompaña la foto, escrito por Laura Ferrero, en el que se explican los motivos del lugar escogido.
Alejandro Castellote realiza, por su parte, un análisis agudo y con diversas lecturas paralelas de la trayectoria de este fotógrafo que sigue produciendo y viajando de manera incansable.
ID Project, one of Jordi Bernadó's latest works, was exhibited at the National Museum in Barcelona in the summer of 2022, and is the central theme of this publication. Yet, this book goes beyond: it covers and explains the complete work of this cosmopolitan and inquisitive photographer, whose gaze is marked by the desire to create common spaces of visual experimentation. His "relational" works reveal a territory of ambivalent expression, an alternative to the uniformity of human behaviour.
In ID Project the photographer acts as an intermediary between the subject and the spectator, and turns the subjects of his portraits into full participants by asking them to choose the place where they will be photographed. The result: each character stands alone in their chosen landscape, unidentifiable except for the text accompanying the photo, written by the writer Laura Ferrero, which explains the reasons for the chosen location.
The curator Alejandro Castellote, in turn, provides an acute and multi-layered analysis of the trajectory of this photographer who continues to produce and travel tirelessly.
